Texas Expands Law to Help More People Fight Unexpected Medical Bills

Patients now have expanded protections under Texas law against surprising, often hefty medical bills from doctors who offer medical care at hospitals that are in-network.State legislators Thursday approved Senate Bill 507, which expands the protections offered to Texans under a statewide mediation program that has been around since 2009. The legislation now goes to Gov.
