Texans Willett and Ho Move Closer to Seat on Powerful Appeals Court

WASHINGTON -- Two Texas conservatives are one step closer to seats on a powerful appeals court bench. On Thursday, the Senate Judiciary Committee gave the greenlight to Texas Supreme Court Justice Don Willett and former Solicitor General James Ho for the New Orleans-based 5th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals.The committee, which includes Texas Sens. John Cornyn and Ted Cruz, split along party lines in approving both men 11-9.
