Tesla is opening a fifth North Texas showroom inside Galleria Dallas, an enclosed mall that attracts 19 million shoppers a year.The electric car maker is a hot tenant for shopping centers looking to vary their mix. This showroom is on the mall's first level near Pottery Barn and Gran Lux Cafe and offers a different kind of shopping experience: appointments for test drives of its new Model 3 and all its other cars. Galleria Dallas has new management with a mission to update the mix of stores and tenants after a few departures and the shopping industry's general declining traffic. The North Dallas mall is anchored by Nordstrom, Belk, American Girl and Macy's. Tesla is one of those unique retail experiences that represents "a perfect fit" for Galleria Dallas' strategy, said Galleria general manager Angie Freed.The Galleria location joins Tesla's other showrooms in the region. The first local one opened in 2014 in Dallas' NorthPark Center. Since then, it also set up outposts in Plano's Legacy West, Fort Worth's Shops at Clearfork and in Southlake Town Center.
