Terrell police are searching for a dog that attacked eight children and sent some to hospitals as they waited for a school bus.The attacks happened around 7:45 a.m. May 10 at an apartment complex in the 100 block of Tiffany Circle and involved what police believe is a brown and white pit bull. Some of the injuries were minor, police said, but some required trips to the hospital.Capture of the dog is critical so it can be quarantined and monitored for rabies, police said.Police posted a news release about the incident on Facebook that drew strong responses. The department urged residents to be cautious when posting comments online."Any heavy handed opinions, even if valid under whatever negative circumstances people may have experienced in their lives, very well may further scare anyone from coming forth with necessary information," police said.Anyone with information about the dog or its owners should contact the Terrell Police Department at 469-474-2700.
