Tell Your Story, Transgender Texans: How Does Your Gender Identity Shape How You Experience Life in North Texas?

We want to know more about the experiences of transgender or nonbinary people living in North Texas. Our reporters would like to hear more about their daily lives; their work life, and education; and their relationships with family, friends, and significant others. Our reporters are especially interested in the experiences of transgender or nonbinary people who are people of color. The lived experiences of transgender people is something many Dallas leaders and residents are thinking about, following the fatal shooting of Muhlaysia Booker this weekend. Booker, 22, was identified as the woman found facedown Saturday on a street in Far East Dallas. Dallas police said Tuesday that her killing bears similarities to two other attacks on transgender women in the past year.  Continue reading...
