Teenage Robbery Suspects Put Up a Fight Before Arrests at Denton Park, Police Say

Three robbery suspects were taken into custody after an attempted mugging in Denton on Monday night. Police were called to Owsley Park about 6:15 p.m. after a caller reported that he was approached by two young men demanding money. One of the robbers was holding a gun, the caller reported. Officers patrolling the park spotted the suspects, two teens and an adult, who began cursing at the officers, police said. Police said one of the teens attempted to assault an officer and was wrestled to the ground. A teenage suspect spit on a supervisor and a second juvenile attempted to interfere with the arrests, police said. The three teens face various charges, including assault on a police officer, harassment of a public servant and evading arrest.
