Teen Critically Injured When 3 Dogs Attack Him in Fenced-in Yard, Irving Police Say

A 16-year-old boy was critically injured after he was attacked by three dogs in an Irving backyard Saturday morning, police said.Police responded around 4:45 a.m. in the 800 block of East Third Street, where they stopped the attack. Officers jumped the fence and got between the boy and the dogs, police said, then fired on the dogs when they charged.The boy, who does not live at the home where the attack occurred, was taken to Parkland Memorial Hospital with critical injuries.One officer was bitten and was treated at the scene. All three dogs were seized and taken to the Irving Animal Care Campus, including one that was injured, police said.Anyone with information should contact Irving police at 972-273-1010 and refer to Case No. 19-17970.
