TD Ameritrade's New 78-acre Southlake Campus to House 1,800 Employees

SOUTHLAKE — The affluent suburb near DFW International Airport has traditionally been where business executives go home at night, not where they go to work in the morning.That's changing with the opening of TD Ameritrade's new $123 million Southlake campus, which brought with it 1,800 employees from the brokerage firm's old north Fort Worth home a short drive away.For Southlake Mayor Laura Hill, that 10-mile move is monumental. It's her city's first big national — or even international — splash in the business world. Hill said the 78-acre campus —the company's second largest next to its Omaha, Neb. headquarters — is the first of its kind in Southlake. But she's hoping the prestige of TD Ameritrade, which formally opened the campus Thursday, will help ensure this isn't the last."We're looking at where we want to be in 20 years, 30 years, 40 years," Hill said.  Continue reading...
