Tarrant Judge's Guilty Plea for Election Tampering Reveals the Need for True Ballot Integrity

We trust judges to enforce the law and be the arbiters of justice, including upholding our electoral system. So when a judge breaks the law to secure his own victory, it ultimately detracts from the spirit of free and fair elections.Tarrant County Justice of the Peace Russ Casey pleaded guilty Monday to the charge of tampering with a government record. An investigation by the district attorney's office had revealed that many of the signatures Casey submitted to get his name on the ballot for the March primary were false — despite Casey signing a document that he witnessed all the signatures.
