Tarrant County Man Who Assaulted 15-year-old Added to DPS List of Most Wanted Sex Offenders

A Tarrant County man convicted of sexually assaulting a 15-year-old girl nearly two decades ago has been added to the top 10 most wanted sex offenders in Texas.The Department of Public Safety is offering a reward of up to $3,000 for information leading to the capture of Raul Gonzalez Jr., 39. He has ties in Fort Worth, Arlington and Mansfield.Gonzalez is accused of violating parole and failing to register as a sex offender.Authorities said Gonzalez has been wanted since July 2016, when he cut off a GPS ankle monitor and failed to report to a Fort Worth facility while on parole for not complying with sex offender registration requirements. A Tarrant County court in 1999 convicted Gonzalez of sexual assault with a minor for an incident involving a teenage girl. He was sentenced to 10 years in prison.When authorities reported last summer that Gonzalez had not showed up for his appointment, the Texas Board of Pardons and Paroles demanded his arrest. Fort Worth police issued their own arrest warrant in September.Gonzalez is described as 5 feet 7 inches tall, with a weight of 170 pounds. He has a tattoo on his chest that says "Gonzalez" and other tattoos on his left arm.
