The Greenville Police Department's SWAT team was negotiating with a man suspected of shooting another man Monday morning.Officials responded to a shots fire call in the 2900 block of Walnut Street, a few blocks south of Lee Street, around 2:30 a.m. There, they found a male with a gunshot wound inside a home.The victim was taken to Hunt Regional Medical Center.The man suspected of opening fire on him fled to another home in the block and was refusing to exit the house. The SWAT team was attempting to communicate with him for several hours.Officials ask that the public avoid the area.The Hunt County Sheriff's Office was assisting with crowd control.
