Suspicious Package at Little Elm Church Turns Out to Be Holiday Decorations, Police Say

A suspicious package reported Sunday morning at Button Memorial United Methodist Church was filled with harmless holiday decorations, Little Elm police say.A man walked into the church on Eldorado Parkway about 9:30 a.m. and asked a staff member to mail the package to California for him, police said. Police said they evacuated the congregation to the Hula Hut next door, where they continued the service while the University of North Texas Police Department's bomb-detecting K9 was dispatched to the scene.Once officers determined that the package was safe, they opened it and found Christmas and Halloween decorations, police said.Little Elm police are still trying to find the man who dropped the package off.  Continue reading...
