Suspicious Device That Prompted Forney Wal-Mart Evacuation Was a Toy

A Wal-Mart in Forney was evacuated Tuesday night after reports of a suspicious device that turned out to be a confetti bomb toy. Customers and employees in the 800 block of U.S. Highway 80 was evacuated after police got a call about 5:40 p.m. regarding a suspicious device in the pharmacy section, inForney.com reported. When police reviewed surveillance footage, they saw a toddler pick up the confetti bomb toy and begin peeling off the outer shell, police said. The child's mother took the toy away from the child and put it on a counter. By the time it was discovered a couple of hours later, it had been stripped of its wrapper and looked like a small cardboard stick, inForney reported.
