Suspect Killed, Officer Injured in San Antonio Shootout, Police Say

A suspect died and an officer was injured in a shootout overnight in northwest San Antonio, police said.Officers responded to an apartment complex in the 6100 block of Ingram Road, near Interstate 410, just before midnight Tuesday, News 4 reports. Officers were called to the scene for a disturbance and found what they believed to be a home invasion, San Antonio Police Chief William McManus said.They were directed around the other side of the building, where they found three suspects in a car.One of the officers started to struggle with the person who was the driver. The passenger in the back seat then got out of the car with a handgun and started shooting at one of the officers, McManus said.The officer was struck in the stomach and returned fire, fatally shooting the armed suspect, he said.  Continue reading...
