Suspect Injured After Police-involved Shooting at Fort Worth Residence

Fort Worth police officers were involved in a shooting Saturday night after a man came out of a house with a gun and fired at them, police said. Police responded about 9:17 p.m. to a domestic disturbance call at the home in the 900 block of E. Shaw Street in south Fort Worth near Berry Street, police said. The man was in the backyard with a white shirt and blue jeans arguing, a police report said. As officers approached the house, the suspect came out with a gun and officers told the man to drop the gun multiple times, police said. The man refused and fired at officers who returned fire after fearing for their safety, police said. The suspect was alert and talking when medical units took him to a local hospital to treat the gunshot wound in his lower torso, police said. Police said they had been dispatched to the home two times earlier in the evening. The suspect has criminal charges pending. The officers involved will be placed on routine administrative leave pending an internal investigation, which is standard procedure.   Continue reading...
