Surprise Heavyweight Contenders Emerge as Third Group to Compete for Control of Fair Park

When the new year begins, three groups will vie for the keys to Fair Park, one of which is an out-of-nowhere heavyweight contender that turned in its proposal two hours before Friday afternoon's deadline.That as-yet-unnamed group counts among its partners Dallas-based developer Trammell Crow Company, a Comcast-owned company that manages sports venues and fairgrounds across the country, and one of the developers of Klyde Warren Park.At 2 p.m. Friday, the city unveiled the list of groups that want to manage and operate 277 acres of city-owned property in South Dallas that's home to the Cotton Bowl, the Music Hall, a handful of museums, several deteriorating art deco buildings, massive parking lots and patches of grass.  Continue reading...
