Student in Athens, Texas, Killed When School Bus, Train Collide; Second Student Injured

One student was killed and another was injured Friday afternoon when a school bus collided with a train in Athens.The Athens Independent School District confirmed the news Friday evening in a prepared statement.The injured student, who attends Central Athens Elementary School, was airlifted to Children's Medical Center Dallas, according to the school district.The bus driver was taken to a local hospital. No other students were on the bus, according to the school district.Athens ISD canceled all athletic events for the evening, KXAS-TV (NBC 5) reported.  Continue reading...
