Student Arrested After False Gun Threat to Denton County High School

A 17-year-old Braswell High School student was arrested Tuesday after a false alarm sent the school into a brief lockdown.The teen was charged with making a false report, officials said, saying that two other students had guns on campus.The suspect was not identified due to their age.Little Elm police searched the students in question, examined surveillance footage of them and checked several classrooms, but found no guns, they said in a Facebook post.Bell Elementary School, Navo Middle School and Paloma Creek Elementary School were also placed on lockdown as police searched the area.The lockdown lasted from 8:57 a.m. to 9:15 a.m."The Little Elm Police Department takes threats to our schools very seriously and works diligently to ensure all schools are safe for all students," the department wrote.  Continue reading...
