Storm Survey Teams Assess Damage, Confirm Tornadoes in Denton, Tarrant Counties

After Wednesday's severe weather outbreak in North Texas, the National Weather Service deployed storm-survey teams to evaluate areas where tornadoes had been reported or where there were reports of damage.The teams were focusing on Kaufman, Rockwall, Tarrant and Van Zandt counties, where several tornadoes were reported, leaving damaged homes, downed trees and debris in their paths.Tarrant CountyShortly before 1 p.m. Wednesday, the weather service issued a tornado warning for portions of Tarrant County. The warning cautioned of a radar-indicated tornado and the potential for small hail. After storms cleared in the afternoon, crews worked to clean up downed trees while residents dealt with downed trees, torn shingles, broken windows, damaged roofs and splintered trees in the Heritage Trace subdivision of North Fort Worth, near Interstate 35W and Heritage Trace Parkway.   Continue reading...
