‘Stop Holding Us Hostage': Federal Workers, Unions Call for End to Shutdown at Downtown Dallas Rally

Dozens of workers and union members representing various federal agencies gathered in downtown Dallas Thursday morning to bring attention to the plight of working families under the partial government shutdown, which has left about 800,000 workers nationwide without pay.The rally outside the Environmental Protection Agency's regional headquarters was led by the local chapter of American Federation of Government Employees, which represents about 600 EPA workers in Dallas. Attendees chanted support for reopening the government and against using federal workers as bargaining tools to build the wall President Donald Trump wants along the U.S.-Mexico border.  Continue reading...
