Southwest Joins American in Extending 737 Max Cancellations Through Labor Day Weekend

Southwest Airlines will extend its cancellation of Boeing 737 Max flights once again - this time through Labor Day weekend.The Dallas-based airline announced Thursday morning it would adjust its schedules to remove 737 Max 8 flights through Sept. 2, according to a statement posted to the company's website."We offer our apologies to our Customers impacted by this change, and we thank them for their continued patience," the airline said in a statement.By removing the 737 Max from its schedules, the airline intends to be able to provide customers with less last-minute flight cancellations and unexpected disruptions during the busy summer travel months.Southwest typically operates 34 of the 737 Max aircraft in its fleet.American Airlines, which flies 24 of the planes in its fleet, recently removed the 737 Max from its schedules through Labor Day weekend as well.  Continue reading...
