Southwest Airlines CEO on Shutdown: ‘It’s a Crazy Way to Run Our Country’

Southwest Airlines CEO Gary Kelly isn't mincing words about the impact of a federal government shutdown on the aviation industry."It's a crazy way to run our country, absolutely absurd," Kelly told business news network CNBC in a interview Thursday about the company's quarterly financial results.Southwest said it lost out on $10 million to $15 million in sales this month because of the shutdown. Kelly told CNBC the shutdown could break the nation's aviation system."In our business, at least, we deal with the government in a very intimate way...," he said.
