Silver Alert Issued for Missing Woman Last Seen in Farmers Branch

A Silver Alert was issued Monday for a missing elderly woman who has a cognitive impairment.Maria Amparo Amaya, 67, was last seen around 1 p.m. Saturday on foot in Farmers Branch.Amaya is described as a white woman with brown eyes and black and gray hair. She is 5-2 and 180 pounds, and she was last seen wearing a gray sweater and purple sweatpants.Authorities believe Amaya's disappearance poses a threat to her health and safety.
