But it’s more important that they live those principles and do the right thing.This week’s news that Rep. Sheila Jackson Lee has lost two powerful posts over concerns about her handling of a rape allegation by a former staffer reminded of this. The Houston Democrat was ousted as chairwoman of the Congressional Black Caucus Foundation and as chair of the House Judiciary subcommittee.It was a powerful message that Washington might finally take accusations of sexual misconduct seriously and that there will be consequences for those who don’t.
