WASHINGTON — Texas is one step closer to filling its swath of legal vacancies after the Senate Judiciary Committee on Thursday approved four nominees to fill federal district court and U.S. attorney posts in the state.Sens. John Cornyn and Ted Cruz, who recommended the candidates to President Donald Trump, applauded their approval by the Senate committee Thursday.
