Sen. Cornyn on McConnell-Trump Feud: Not ‘helpful to Engage in the Circular Firing Squad'

WASHINGTON -- Hours after President Donald Trump launched another Twitter attack on Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell, Texas Sen. John Cornyn said in a radio interview Thursday that it’s not helpful to “engage in the circular firing squad.”Asked by KFYO's Chad Hasty about a recent report in The New York Times that said Trump and McConnell are locked in a virtual cold war, Cornyn -- the No. 2 Republican in the Senate -- declined to comment on the story but said McConnell is a “consummate professional” who will do what it takes to “move the Senate forward and work to support the president.”  Continue reading...
