Security Guard Shoots Man Who Fired Gun Into Crowd in Northeast Dallas

A security guard shot one man who pointed a gun at him after the suspect had fired into a crowd and hit another person Monday afternoon, Dallas police reported.It happened around 4:30 p.m. in the 7000 block of Fair Oaks Avenue in northeast Dallas as officers found an 18-year-old man with a gunshot wound in his shoulder.According to police, the man had gotten into an argument with a group, pointed a handgun at the crowd and fired into it, hitting one man in the ankle.The man, who has not been identified, then pointed his gun at a security officer in a nearby business who witnessed the shooting, police said. The security officer then fired his weapon and hit the man in the shoulder, police said.When the first shooter fell to the ground, the security guard detained him, secured his weapon and called police.Both gunshot wounds were not life-threatening, police said.  Continue reading...
