Second Suspect Charged With Murder in Shooting Over Southeast Oak Cliff Drug Deal

A second suspect has been charged with capital murder in connection with a southeast Oak Cliff shooting that killed a man in November.Ahmard Jackson, 34, was arrested Wednesday afternoon. He's accused of involvement in a Nov. 23 drug deal that ended with 40-year-old Michael Deshawn Daniels left with gunshot wounds in the 500 block of Woodacre Drive, near Ledbetter Drive and Interstate 35E.In December, Dallas police charged 36-year-old Jason Young with capital murder. Young told police that he and a man he knew as "Lil A" had agreed to meet Daniels and a companion to purchase marijuana, and that the fourth man had opened fire on them, according to an arrest warrant affidavit.Lil A then returned fire and hit Daniels, Young allegedly told police.Officials determine that Lil A was Jackson. They only found one bullet casing at the scene, and reported no other evidence to indicate that Jackson had fired in self-defense.Jackson has previously served time in Dallas County for aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, burglary of a habitation, evading arrest and driving with an invalid license. At the time of his arrest, he'd had three outstanding warrants for unpaid traffic fines in Grand Prairie and Mesquite.He remained in the Dallas County jail Thursday afternoon with bail set at $1 million.  Continue reading...
