The Dallas County sheriff's department is searching for a man who ran away Monday evening before he could be booked into the jail. The handcuffed 21-year-old ran away about 5:30 p.m. from a bailiff while he was being transported from the courthouse to be booked into the Dallas County Jail, sheriff's office spokeswoman Melinda Urbina said. The sheriff's department is "actively looking for him based on prior criminal history," she said in a written statement.
