‘School Safety Is at the Forefront of Everyone's Mind Right Now,' Frisco ISD Superintendent Says

FRISCO — A school safety hotline in Frisco ISD has accepted anonymous tips for years, but a lot of students weren't willing to make the phone call.The hotline, which also accepts submissions through a website, wasn't widely publicized. But now a parent's suggestion to switch to a more student-friendly mobile app with two-way texting is gaining support. A proposal to change programs is expected to go before the school board for consideration.It's one of many ideas for increasing security that have arisen from discussions that have intensified since February's shooting at a Florida high school left 17 people dead."School safety is at the forefront of everyone's mind right now," Frisco ISD Superintendent Mike Waldrip told a group gathered Friday at city hall.
