School Bells Ring Early in Mesquite ISD as District Looks to Expand pre-K Classes to 3-year-olds

Mesquite educators say that 3-year-olds can handle school and that early intervention is critical to children's success. Now all they have to do is find enough 3-year-olds. Although 135 have been enrolled for the fall, the district believes about 1,000 would qualify and benefit from the free program.Pre-kindergarten for 3-year-olds is an extension of Mesquite ISD's #ReadPlayTalk initiative to have all students reading at third-grade level before they enter third grade.  Continue reading...
