Sailor From Arlington Found Dead Aboard Aircraft Carrier

A sailor from Arlington was found dead on a Navy aircraft carrier over the weekend.The Navy said Tuesday that 22-year-old Akiree Pointer, an engineman fireman recruit, was found dead Saturday on the U.S.S. John C. Stennis. The Stennis is in port in Bremerton, Wash.The Navy said it was investigating Pointer's death.Lt. Cmdr. Frederick Martin, a spokesman for the ship, told the Kitsap Sun there was "no obvious and apparent cause of death."   Continue reading...
