Running Car Stolen Outside Plano Store With Woman's Shih Tzu Still Inside

Police say a rental car was stolen outside a Plano store this week — with the motorist's dog still inside.Police said the woman parked her rental car outside a store in the 3300 block of Central Expressway, near West Parker Road, around 2 p.m. Monday. She left the car running and the air conditioning on for her 2-year-old Shih Tzu, Prince.When she returned, the car and Prince were gone.The car is a white, four-door Ford Focus with California license plate 7XIF200, police said.Prince was described as a small white and brown dog who had been recently groomed. He has a red cherry on his left eye and was wearing a green shirt and a red harness. Prince does not have a microchip or a collar with ID tags. The stolen vehicle was a rental with license plate CA 7XIF200, police said. Prince has a recently groomed white and brown coat and a red cherry eye. He was wearing a green shirt and red harness at the time of the theft. Prince has no identification chip or tags on his collar.Anyone with information is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 877-373-8477.
