Rockwall-Heath Girls Soccer Coach on Leave After Middle-finger Team Photo Surfaces

Another high school soccer controversy has surfaced, this time involving the girls team at Rockwall-Heath High School after a photo showed players making obscene gestures.The coach, who is in the photo but not making the same middle-finger gesture, was placed on administrative leave and the players were disciplined, KTVT-TV (Channel 11) reported.The district did not name the coach or provide details on how the players were disciplined, but he's listed as Marco Duran on Rockwall ISD's website."The actions of the students and coach in the photo are disturbing and do not reflect the culture or belief in excellence for Rockwall-Heath High School or the girl's varsity soccer team," school district officials said in a statement.The incident came to light one week after five boys soccer players at Forney High School were charged with sexual assault in a series of hazing incidents against other players.The photo of the Rockwall-Heath players, in which some girls are extending their middle fingers, drew a harsh response."Are you kidding me?" Lisa Peimann told KDFW-TV (Channel 4).
