Robbery Suspect Cuts Off Ankle Monitor After Fleeing Trial in Fort Worth, Officials Say

Law enforcement is looking for an aggravated robbery suspect who took off during a trial proceeding Monday and removed his ankle monitor, officials say. Bryan Arriaga, 19, left the courtroom during a break in jury selection, Tarrant County Criminal district attorney’s spokeswoman Sam Jordan said. Officials received an alert from his ankle monitor, which was later found in downtown Fort Worth.A warrant was issued Tuesday for Arriaga's arrest. The presiding judge declared a mistrial because of Arriaga's escape, Jordan said. He had pleaded not guilty Monday to the aggravated robbery charge.Arriaga is accused in the November 2017 shooting and robbery of a man who was selling his PlayStation.   Continue reading...
