A Weatherford police officer was hospitalized after being shot Thursday night, the Weatherford Democrat reported. The incident began as a traffic stop about 9:30 p.m. in the parking lot of Tequila Bar and Grill, the Democrat reported. A struggled occurred and the suspect, who has not been identified, was also shot. The suspect's condition was not available.The officer was transported to an area hospital and was reported to be in stable condition, KXAS-TV (NBC5) reported.He has been identified by the Democrat as Chris Bumpas, a former U.S. Navy hospital corpsman.
