Renowned Theoretical Physicist Stephen Hawking Dies at 76

Renowned physicist Stephen Hawking has died, a spokesman for his family announced. He was 76. The statement said Hawking died peacefully at his home in Cambridge in the early hours of the morning with his family at his side. "We are deeply saddened that our beloved father passed away today," the written statement said. "He was a great scientist and an extraordinary man whose work and legacy will live on for many years. His courage and persistence with his brilliance and humour inspired people across the world. He once said, 'It would not be as much of a universe if it wasn't home to the people you love.' We will miss him forever."Hawking was born Jan. 8, 1942, in Oxford, England. He was diagnosed in 1963 with ALS shortly before his 21st birthday.More to come.  Continue reading...
