Police Seeking Suspect Who Robbed Denton Jewelry Store at Gunpoint

Denton police are seeking a suspect who stole money and jewelry from a jewelry store.Police received a silent alarm call at 10:20 a.m. Wednesday regarding a robbery at First People's Jewelers, located at 117 N. Elm Street in Denton's Courthouse Square. When officers arrived, employees said they had just been robbed, and a suspect had already fled the store on foot.The suspect walked into the store and pointed a black handgun at employees, police said. He asked employees to open cabinets and took jewelry before leaving the store.He also took about $800 in cash from the store, the Denton Record-Chronicle reported.
