Police Make Arrest After Robber Claims to Have Bomb During Rowlett Bank Heist

Rowlett police arrested a suspect Wednesday after a robbery at a Bank of America.Officers in Rowlett and Garland were notified just before 3 p.m. about the robbery at the bank in the 2400 block of Lakeview Parkway. A robber claiming to have a bomb walked into the building and demanded money, then drove off, Rowlett police said.Police found the suspect in the parking lot of the Spring Hill Suites in the 3200 block of Shiloh Road in Richardson and made the arrest after a brief foot chase.Officers recovered cash from the robbery after Garland bomb specialists ensured that the suspect’s bag and vehicle were safe to approach.Authorities, who are continuing to investigate, did not release any information about the suspect's identity.  Continue reading...
