Police Looking for Owner of Monkey That ‘nipped' Girl at Terrell Buc-ee's

Terrell police are trying to find the owner of a pet monkey that nipped a girl Friday afternoon at a Buc-ee's. The man and monkey were in the store in the 500 block of Interstate 20 about 3:45 p.m. when the girl asked if she could see the monkey, police Capt. A.D. Sansom said. Management asked the man to leave, and when he went to get the monkey off the girl's shoulder it bit or scratched her on the neck, he said. The girl's family called police after the incident, but the owner and monkey had already left the store. Police have some leads on who the man is, and want to speak with him to make sure the monkey's shots are up to date, Sansom said. No criminal charges are anticipated. The monkey is not thought to be a service animal. Anyone with information on the whereabouts of the owner is asked to call Terrell police at 469-474-2700.  Continue reading...
