Police in Denton County Arrest Drifter Wanted in Father's Slaying in Oklahoma

An Oklahoma man accused of killing his father was arrested early Wednesday sleeping on a sidewalk in Denton County, Roanoke police said.Jacob Allan Barber, 21, was spotted shortly after midnight Tuesday sleeping on his backpack outside a Petsmart along U.S. Highway 377.Officers investigating a suspicious person call questioned Barber, and he said he was traveling south from Oklahoma.Police soon learned he was wanted by Cleveland County, Okla., sheriff's investigators in connection with the death of Glenn Barber, the suspect's father.The elder Barber, 48, was found slain in his home Sunday after he didn't show up for services at First Baptist Church of Moore. His Nissan Pathfinder was missing.Glenn Barber's daughter said on Facebook that her brother had long suffered with mental illness.It's unclear when Jacob Barber will be extradited back to Oklahoma.  Continue reading...
