Police Find $2 Million in Meth Hidden in Car's Gas Tank on Interstate 35

Central Texas police say they found nearly $2 million worth of methamphetamine hidden in a car during a weekend traffic stop.An officer in Round Rock, just north of Austin, stopped the vehicle on Interstate 35 on Saturday. When the driver and passenger gave conflicting information, the officer became suspicious, police said.A drug-sniffing dog alerted police to the presence of drugs, and officers reported finding 71 pounds of meth in a modified gas tank. The drugs have a street value of almost $2 million, police said.The driver, 36-year-old Alabama resident Leon Fields, was booked into the Williamson County jail on one count of manufacture or delivery of a controlled substance, the Austin American-Statesman reported.
