Police Arrest 2nd Suspect in Shooting at Pleasant Grove Game Room That Left 2 Men Dead

A second man has been arrested in the shooting deaths of two men at a Pleasant Grove game room.William Walker, 34, was taken into custody Friday on a capital murder charge, police said. Dangelo Johns, 22, was booked in to the Dallas County jail Monday on the same charge.The pair are suspected in a shooting that took place around 2:45 p.m. Aug. 15 in the 4000 block of Urban Avenue, near Military Parkway and North Jim Miller Road.Police who responded to the location found Dominic Cortez, 24, and Mark Anthony Noriega, 39, shot inside. Cortez died at the scene and Noriega died at Baylor University Medical Center at Dallas.A witness told police that two men forced their way into the game room after knocking on the back door and that one of them, later identified as Johns, pulled out a gun. A struggle and then a gunfight ensued, according to an arrest-warrant affidavit.The incident was captured on the game room's surveillance footage, the affidavit says, and showed one of the attackers taking a bag from behind the counter and going through Cortez's pockets before the pair fled in a gray Nissan.  Continue reading...
