Pleasant Grove Woman Charged With Animal Cruelty After Her Dog Starves to Death

A Dallas woman faces an animal-cruelty charge after authorities say she let a dog die of starvation.Reyna Irazema Piña, 37, surrendered to police on Wednesday, KDFW-TV (Channel 4) reported. She has been charged with cruelty to a non-livestock animal, which carries a penalty of up to two years in state jail and a $10,000 fine.Investigators seized two horses and a dog from Piña's home in the 3000 block of Pruitt Avenue, near Scyene Road in Pleasant Grove, on Nov. 30. A dead pit bull also was found on the property.The SPCA, which was awarded custody of the animals earlier this, found the horses and dead dog in an unfurnished garage.
