A former insurance agent from Plano was ordered Thursday to pay back $313,068 she'd gained by faking cancer.Karissa White, 48, pleaded guilty to insurance fraud over in a Collin County court.White, who had formerly been licensed as an insurance agent, bought books on coding cancer claims, then created fake medical records of cancer diagnoses and treatments.Between September 2015 and April 2017, she submitted nearly 100 claims for out-of-pocket treatment expenses to Aflac, totaling over $300,000.White was sentenced to 10 years of probation and 180 hours of community service, and ordered to pay back the money she'd fraudulently gained.
