Plano to Pony Up Payment for New Boeing HQ in Legacy West

Aviation giant Boeing could get $200,000 in Plano economic development incentives to help set up its new division headquarters in Legacy West.Boeing disclosed in March that it would locate the headquarters for its new global services division in the $3 billion Legacy West development on the Dallas North Tollway at State Highway 121.Plano's city council is set to approve a cash grant of up to $200,000 to Boeing for the new operation.To get the funding, Boeing will have to rent 15,000 square feet of office space and locate 50 employees in Legacy West.The aerospace giant will join Toyota, JPMorgan Chase, Liberty Mutual Insurance and FedEx with offices in the 240-acre development.The new division will provide training, supply chain management, aircraft modernization, platform sustainment and data optimization for its customers.The Chicago-based aircraft maker plans to have the new division up and running with a few dozen senior management officials by later this year.Landing the aerospace firm's division headquarters is another big win for Legacy West, which started construction just over two years ago and will be mostly finished by the end of this year.Boeing will have its office in the same building just North of Legacy Drive where Toyota is housing its high-tech Toyota Connected division headquarters.To get the full economic grant from Plano, Boeing wil have to have its office fully staffed by the end of 2018.Boeing said it will invest more than $2 million in improvements in the new office.  Continue reading...
