Plano ISD Names Lone Finalist for Superintendent

The Plano ISD board of trustees is looking to promote its interim superintendent to the post on a permanent basis. The board voted in a special called meeting Tuesday morning to name Sara Bonser as the lone finalist to be the district's new superintendent of schools. She will replace Dr. Brian Binggeli, who resigned in November over "differing leadership philosophies" with the board. Bonser, who had been the district's interim deputy superintendent at that time, immediately took over leadership duties in the district that serves about 54,000 students. State law requires school district to name a lone finalist for superintendent followed by a 21-day waiting period. The school board will formally vote on Bonser's appointment to the top post after that period."We knew the kind of leader we were looking for, and we were very fortunate to have a remarkably experienced and capable interim superintendent in Sara Bonser," school board president Missy Bender said in a news release.
