Plano Is One of the Top U.S. Cities for New Office Buildings Opening This Year

With major projects finishing up for JPMorgan Chase, Liberty Mutual Insurance and Fannie Mae, Plano will be one of the top markets in the country for adding new office space in the final months of 2017.Only Manhattan and the San Francisco Bay area will have more office space opening its doors this fall and winter, according to a new report by Yardi Systems Inc.About 3.3 million square feet of office space is set to open in Plano in the next few monthsThat's just behind 5.2 million square feet in New York City and 3.7 million square feet in San Francisco."Demand for bigger and better office developments is high, as companies continue to expand and increase their payrolls in sought-after markets," the new report said. "The final leg of the year looks promising: 215 buildings with over 50,000 square feet are scheduled for delivery over the fall and winter months, amounting to nearly 48 million square feet of brand new office space."JPMorgan Chase's more than 1 millions square foot office campus in Plano's Legacy West development is one of the 10 largest U.S. office developments on Yardi Systems' list.The new Legacy Central office campus on U.S. Highway 75 in Plano also got a shout out.Currently more than 6 million square feet of office construction is underway in the Dallas-Fort Worth area.  Continue reading...
