Plano High-school Athlete Accused of Sexually Assaulting a Child Is Indicted on 3 Counts

A Plano teenager accused of sexually assaulting a young girl at a home day care run by his mother has been indicted on three counts.Zachary Alan Holifield, 18, is charged with continuous sexual abused of a child under 14, aggravated sexual assault of a child and indecency with a child by sexual contact, court records show. He was 17 at the time of the alleged incidents.A grand jury handed down the indictment Thursday, court records show.According to an arrest-warrant affidavit, Holifield — once a highly recruited baseball player at Plano Senior High School — took a 5-year-old girl into a bathroom after his mother left the day care and forced her to perform a sex act.Detectives said Holifield confessed to having sexual contact with the girl three times, the document says.  Continue reading...
