The chief executive of one of the Permian Basin's biggest players is retiring and the fracking pioneer he replaced is returning to the top job.Irving-based Pioneer Natural Resources Co. announced Thursday that Timothy L. Dove will retire, effective immediately. He's also leaving the firm's board of directors.Scott D. Sheffield, now the company's board chairman, will return as CEO.
